Trust GXT 489 Fayzo Gaming Headset – Review

Digital lifestyle accessories brand Trust has announced its latest entry into the gaming headset market with the GXT 489 Fayzo. This headset focuses on two key areas: affordability and sustainability, and it succeeds on both counts.

Priced at just £29.99, the Fayzo is significantly cheaper than most other gaming headsets on the market. It is also made from 85% recycled plastics, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

While I’m not a die-hard audiophile,  I do appreciate well-designed sound and enjoy listening to music and podcasts to unwind. A good pair of headphones is an essential accessory for most gamers, including myself.

Good Points :-

  • Price.
  • Comfort.
  • Good noise cancelation.
  • Recycled Materials.
  • Lightweight.

Bad Points:-

  • Plasticly Build.
  • No Case.
  • Wired Connection Only.

The Trust GXT 489 Fayzo Gaming Headset is affordable and sustainable. It has a sleek black design, but it feels light and flimsy. Considering its plastic construction and low price, this is somewhat forgivable. We’re not getting a luxury product, but we’re not paying for one either. I’m glad Trust opted for this design instead of sticking a bunch of flashing lights on it to make it look more like a gaming device. With its current look, the Fayzo wouldn’t look out of place next to much more expensive headsets, even if the feel doesn’t quite match the look.

The Trust GXT 489 Fayzo Gaming Headset is wired only. This may put some people off, but I see it as a plus. I’m tired of having to remember to charge my wireless headset all the time, and I hate feeling like there’s a battery limit on my listening time. Plus, this headset is very comfortable. I wore it for hours on end without any discomfort to my ears or head. The ear cushions are especially nice, and they wrapped around my ears snugly.

The noise cancellation on this headset is surprisingly good, especially for the price. When you put it on while gaming, it’s like being transported into the game world, thanks to the solid audio quality. More expensive headsets can do better, and my regular headset has better audio quality, but it also cost more than twice as much.

The microphone is adequate, but not great. I wouldn’t recommend it for recording audio for streaming or anything similar, but you’d need a professional microphone for that anyway. For online gaming, which is the primary purpose of the GXT 489, the microphone works perfectly well. Overall, the Trust GXT 489 Fayzo Gaming Headset is a good option for gamers on a budget, but it’s important to keep in mind that the audio quality and features are limited.

Conclusion :-

The GXT 489 Fayzo Gaming Headset is a solid option for those looking for a cheaper and eco-friendly headset option. I’ll be using it as a back-up for my regular headset, as it is impressive in its noise-cancelling and audio quality for the price point. It doesn’t soar to the heights of being the best headset in the game, but with a neat look, a good microphone and the aforementioned audio quality, I would recommend this accessory for anyone who’s not looking to spend much but still want a good headset.

The GXT Fayzo Headset is available from Amazon for £29.99 which puts in the stocking filler price for a gamer this Christmas
