Samsung’s Galaxy S24 May Offer Better Gaming Performance with a Faster Touch Rate

[ad_1]

Exactly a week from now, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 will be unveiled at the Unpacked event in San Jose, California. As we draw closer to that day, leaks continue to appear at a higher rate. While it seems we already know all the specifications and features of the flagships, there could still be a few surprises in store. The latest leak indicates the Galaxy S24 will feature a faster touch response on its displays.

A lesser-known tipster who goes by the name Harshit Joshi on X shared some Galaxy S24 materials that were labeled for internal training purposes. Interestingly, it depicted new AMOLED displays with a 12 percent faster touch response rate in the Galaxy S24 compared to the Galaxy S23 in one of the slides.

Although the increased value is relatively modest, a faster touch screen response is expected to deliver noticeably improved touch controls when gaming as latency is reduced. It likely the faster touch rate would be applicable in general usage as well, which would produce smoother display feedback to the user.

Of course, it’s also possible that Samsung will infuse some software optimizations to complement the hardware. However, we are yet to see how the South Koreans will implement this on the Galaxy S24 to improve the overall touch experience.

Other Galaxy S24-related display features were highlighted as well. Basically, the Galaxy S24’s (Ultra) screens are touted to receive an upgrade for its peak brightness to 2,600 nits, which is a notable jump from the Galaxy S23’s 1,500 nits peak brightness. An earlier report revealed the display will be manufactured using Samsung’s latest M13 display technology.

In addition, it also showed both the Vision Booster mode and adaptive color tone. The former does look to enhance the sharpness and make the colors pop out more with additional vibrancy while the last display feature points to a dynamic optimizer based on scenes.

Beyond the display-related upgrades, the standard Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ have been confirmed in the leak to be powered by the Exynos 2400 SoC in selected regions and with the Galaxy S24 Ultra exclusively powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Support for 8K video recording at 5x zoom was also mentioned for the most expensive flagship model.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 Ultra model will receive a titanium frame with yellow, gray, black, and violet color options. There are similar colors found in the Galaxy S24 (Plus), albeit at different hue levels.

What are your thoughts about these Galaxy S24 upgrades? We’d like to hear your answers in the comments.
