Redmi A3 Launch Expected Soon As The Phone Appears on TDRA Certification

[ad_1]

The Redmi series was always known for bringing decent specifications at a low pricing point. However, with the evolution of the numbered Redmi and Redmi Note smartphones, the specifications become more advanced and the price has risen. For that reason, Xiaomi decided to introduce the Redmi A-series, made of super-budget smartphones with modest specifications. These specs can still do the job for the less demanding users who want to enjoy casual gaming and social media apps. However, the prices are much lower when compared to other smartphones in Redmiโ€™s lineup. The latest entries in the series were the Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2+. These devices were released in March and May 2023, respectively.ย  Now, the company is working on the Redmi A3.

According to new information, Xiaomiโ€™s Redmi is working on the Redmi A3 smartphone. The Redmi A2โ€™s sequel was spotted with model number 23129RN51X in TDRA (Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority) Certification. This is the certification given by the Federal Telecommunication Agency in the United Arab Emirates. The folks at MySmartPrice also spotted the upcoming Redmi A3 smartphone on the NBTC certification, which corresponds to Thailand. The NBTC certification confirmed the smartphoneโ€™s moniker and confirmed a global launch might take place very soon.

The TDRA certification and the NBTC confirm the phone with the same moniker. The upcoming smartphone with model number 23129RN51X will indeed be sold as the Redmi A3. The TDRA certification confirms the phone will debut in the Middle East region very soon. Unfortunately, the certification does not reveal any other specifications of the upcoming smartphone. The NBTC certification confirmed that the device will offer 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE support.

The Redmi A3 also appeared in the EEC certification (European) alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone. Sadly, the EEC certification didnโ€™t share more details about the smartphone apart from the model number. Considering the number of certifications, the Xiaomi A3โ€™s launch is expected soon. Xiaomi could opt for a launch timeline between February and March which would fall in line with the launch of its predecessor.

Redmi A2 Specifications

To put things in perspective, we will provide a brief list of the Redmi A2 specifications. This can show exactly the kind of specifications brought by this lineup.

The Redmi A2 arrived with a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with 1,600 x 720 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, it boasts the MediaTek Helio G36 (12nm) with 4 x 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores and 4 x 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores. For Graphics tasks, the phone includes the PowerVR GE8320. Itโ€™s a modest chipset that does the job on social media, web browsing, and multimedia content. Itโ€™s also possible to play some casual games.

The Redmi A2 has up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage and has a single 8 MP camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone brings a 5 MP camera. It has a 3.5mm audio jack which is something that you find only in budget smartphones these days.

Perhaps the most controversial feature, and one that we expect to see a change with the Redmi A3, is the use of a micro USB 2.0 port. Hopefully, we will see an upgrade to the USB Type-C standard with the Redmi A3. That will probably happen due to the adoption of USB Type C becoming a rule for smartphones sold in certain markets.

Moving on, the Redmi A2 has a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging, FM Radio and GPS.

We expect some upgrades with the Redmi A3, but these upgrades will likely be modest to keep the phone on its super affordable price ratio. Redmi will likely drop teasers with more details ahead of the smartphoneโ€™s release.
