Leaked Codenames Indicate Possible Pixel Tablet Successor

[ad_1]

While we still haven’t heard any official news or tidbits from Google about a successor to its Pixel Tablet from last year, that doesn’t mean that the company has stopped working on its latest Pixel-branded product (or so we hope). In fact, a pair of leaked device codenames point to the possibility of a successor in the works.

As reported by the folks over at 9to5Google, two device codenames – “Clementine” and “Kiyomi” – were spotted in a breakdown of the Android 14 QPR3 code for Android phones. Before the launch of the 2023 Pixel Tablet, two codenames “Tangor” and later “Tangorpro” were also uncovered, with the latter eventually making it to market as the Pixel Tablet.

One key connection between the two sets of codenames is the use of citrus-themed fruits, which might indicate a possible new Pixel Tablet model in the works. Of course at this point these are the only clues that the predictions are based on, and things might still change with regards to Google product launches.

A while back, several leaks about the upcoming Pixel 8a made their rounds online, including a hands-on photo of the device’s supposed retail packaging, traced back to a source from Vietnam.
