Setting Up A Virtual Machine, in VMware Workstation 6.5

I decided to make this guide to help out many users that are unsure what a Virtual Machine (from now on referred to as "VM") is and how it can really help them.

For those that don't know, a VM is just like it says, a Virtual Machine, or a program, that emulates a whole computer, with it, you can run just about any operating system inside your current operating system (from now on referred to as "OS").

Ok, let's get started, first, you will need the following: VMware Workstation
Any operating system install disc (i will be using an image i made of a windows XP Service Pack 3 disk) <- not required unless you want to actually USE your new VM

Alright, onto the setup of a New VM, i will assume you have installed one of the above versions of VMware Workstation (now referred to as "VMW")

Step 1. Load up VMW and at the following window, select New Virtual Machine (Ctrl+N will work)

How to Test RAM on Your Computer

Testing of RAM (Random Access Memory) allows you to know the exact space available in your computer and the need for memory upgrades. It is necessary to test it on a regular basis if you install new applications frequently. Here is how to test RAM in your computer.

Windows OS

Step 1

Start your computer. Wait for Windows to load.

Step 2

Right Click on ‘My Computer’ and select ‘Properties.’ Doing so will open up ‘Systems Properties.’

Step 3

Click on the ‘General’ tab. Here you can view the physical memory installed on your computer. The amount indicated is the total RAM installed on your computer. RAM is measured in MB and GB and is in the multiples of 2, such as 32 MB, 64 MB or 128 MB in older versions of PCs. Newer PCs are usually equipped with 256 MB, 512 MB or 2 GB and so on of RAM.

How to Access Additional Hidden Regional Wallpapers in Windows 7?

METHOD A:

Windows 7 puts all these regional wallpapers in "MCT" folder which is stored under "%windir%\Globalization" folder.

1. First open My Computer and copy-paste following text in addressbar:

%windir%\Globalization\MCT

Press Enter and it'll directly go to "MCT" folder which is actually a hidden folder.

2. You'll see following 5 folders in MCT folder:

MCT-AU
MCT-CA
MCT-GB
MCT-US
MCT-ZA

Re-Enable: Enable regedit, Cmd, Task Manager, System Restore

When malicious software or virus get into a PC, the instant effect by them is to make their detection difficult by disable Registry Editor, Command prompt, Task manager etc. But Re-Enabling these system files is very difficult. In this condition a portable tool Re-Enable can help you out. Re-Enable Portable is a handy tool that will re enable registry editing, Cmd, Task Manager, System restore  and Run command.

As I said above malicious software or virus disable these to prevent removal of such viruses ,with one click regedit will be re activated ,without messing around with scripts or third party registry editors. This is coded in .net but doesn’t need .net installed because .net dependencies are included in the program making it fully portable.
